Short Take: Drexel University offers workers PCs at a discount

Toshiba and Drexel University in Philadelphia announced Wednesday the Computers for All subsidized purchase program, touting it as the first of its kind in higher education. About 1,200 full-time employees at Drexel are eligible to buy one of three Toshiba desktop computers or a laptop. The purchase includes three years of Internet access through regional provider DCA Net. The monthly charge over the three years ranges from $18.79 for the Toshiba V3100 to $45.58 for the Toshiba Satellite 2800 laptop.
