SHSS-Clinical Pharmacist — IT Decision Support*

Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates. We house all non-medical departments and healthcare support departments that are not provided at the affiliates.

The Clinical Pharmacist - IT Decision Support will provide medication expertise to the clinical content development process. This pharmacist will support pharmacy and medication development of specialized best practice guidelines, order sets, smart tools and decision support tools. The Clinical Pharmacist - IT Decision Support will be a key participant in the collaborative clinical content teams. This person will provide clinical pharmacy expertise to all clinical areas related to information technology. REQUIREMENTS


Education:

Formal education from an accredited school or college of pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree is required. Completion of a residency program is desirable. Licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of California is required. Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language (both written and verbal).



Experience:

Previous experience in hospital or ambulatory pharmacy is required. This position requires experience with evidence based clinical literature. Clinical information technology experience is desirable.



Knowledge:

Knowledge and expertise in both outpatient and inpatient drug therapies is required. This position requires clinical pharmacy expertise. Knowledge in clinical guideline development, formulary management and pharmacy databases is desirable. Working knowledge of clinical information technology systems is recommended.



Special Skills/Equipment:

Strong communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills are required. This person should be able to prioritize multiple projects and objectives in a rapidly changing environment. Must possess good presentation and team building skills.



Physical Requirements:

Possesses the ability to work a computer terminal and to participate in meeting (either presenting or attending). Travel within Northern California will be required for off-site meetings and implementations.
