Pharmacist - Pharmacy
Founded in 1969, 353-bed Memorial Hospital Jacksonville has enjoyed decades of notable accomplishments. We were one of the first hospitals in the nation to teach CPR to “non-professionals,” and the first hospital in Jacksonville to admit an air-flight patient back in 1971.
More recently, we’ve been selected as a “Top 100” hospital every year since 1997, and are now boasting a new renovation/construction project that will increase our square footage and add more services. Our new look has accommodated nine new Critical Care beds, a third Open Heart room, another Cath Lab, two more outpatient Operating rooms, and a new Telemetry Unit that has increased our capacity to 153 telemetry beds. These upgrades have further enhanced our full-service acute care capabilities to better serve a growing population that already depends on us for several Centers of Excellence, including Cardiology, Critical Care, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Oncology and Orthopedics.
Exceptional technology is a hallmark of Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, with advancements found throughout the hospital. Our new Pharmacy robot is one such example, as is our new LightSpeed QX/I computed tomography scanner and PET-Scan equipment. The Memorial Wound Center has also been noted for providing some of the area’s most innovative care. Another example of new advancement is the construction of the New Cyberknife, a radiosurgery device with a Linear accelerator (Linac) mounted on a robotic arm that uses image guidance cameras to locate the position of tumors. The Cyberknife reduces the risks of complications, enables treatment for tumors considered inoperable by other surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery methods, and improves patient comfort and shortens recovery. These advancements enhance the patients’ quality of life during and after treatment.
