Job Description:
The Clinical Services Department is the clinical product development team for Walgreens Health Initiatives, Walgreen Co and Walgreens Health Services business units. This department is comprised of pharmacy professionals responsible for the development and implementation of patient care programs designed to be sold to employers, managed care organizations and the pharmaceutical industry. The Clinical Services Department performs health outcomes analysis of all programs with the goal of demonstrating the value of pharmacist interventions in optimizing the utilization of healthcare resources and in improving patient care outcomes. Leading the industry with innovative programming, current activities include Care Management, Concurrent Drug Use Review, Continuing Education and Pharmacy School Relations, Drug Information, Formulary Services, Medication Management, Medication Use Evaluation, Merged Medical, Health Outcomes and Research, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Retrospective Drug Use Review and Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Content.

Responsibilities:
In charge of developing the clinical product development, implementation and management strategy for Walgreens Health Initiatives PBM and Walgreen Co. community pharmacy Disease Management, Medicare Medication Therapy Management (MTMS) and Specialty Pharmacy clinical programs. In charge of managing a staff of clinical pharmacists and other technical personnel that develop and implement these clinical programs. The program ROI is measured from network pharmacy data and medical claims and from face-to-face encounters in the community pharmacy setting. Sophisticated software
and hardware systems and processes assist the Health Outcomes team and the Director in measuring client and patient value.

Qualifications:
Pharmacist preferred. Management experience preferred. Healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, health outcomes experts are considered. Experience with biotechnology medications, home infusion medications etc. a plus. Experience in developing the strategy, systems, and business plans for disease management and specialty pharmacy clinical program and operating systems development. Managed Care experience preferred.
