He/She will be responsible for developing and maintaining the highest standard of customer relationships with each hospital within the specified region, and manage all related responsibilities and activities in that region. This is a ground-up opportunity for someone that enjoys new business development, and is excited by the challenge of implementing a new operation within a growth-oriented organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with local operation team in securing necessary approvals for a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes generated from each customer, or prospective customer, for the Company’s Pharmaceutical Waste Service.
Develop and maintain quality relationships with a variety of customer contacts within each customer facility. This includes, but is not limited to, pharmacy, nursing, safety, operations, and procurement. Ensures that customers value Stericycle’s Pharmaceutical Waste Services through relationship management, oversight of service management, and resource support.
Work closely with field operations and/or hazardous waste sub-contractors in coordinating hazardous waste from customer locations.
Maintains operations within budgetary guidelines:
o Manage against financial goals.
o Implement ways to reduce costs.
o Pursue ways to increase revenue.
o Obtain customer information and uses it for improvement of services.
Survey customers and make recommendations for additional container needs, new construction, or the addition of new facilities.
Participate in educational events and/or in-servicing units, as required, providing industry expertise and acting as a resource for a variety of customer needs.
Performs other duties as requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating prior experience in the development and implementation of new programs, policies, and procedures.
Five or more years of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare/pharmaceutical environment, hazardous waste, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating knowledge of hazardous waste handling procedures.
Three or more years of lab packing experience for hazardous waste materials, along with extensive experience and knowledge of the recordkeeping related to hazardous waste transportation.
One or more years of management experience, demonstrating the ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
Certificates in Hazardous Waste Management, HAZWOPER, or other related certifications preferred.
Position required extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds.
Work within a hospital setting is required. As potential exposure to infections materials and/or patients is a risk, use of company-provided personal protective equipment is required.
Must be able to pass and maintain a respiratory physical qualification in accordance with OSHA standards and maintain the facial hair requirements of the standard.
