Licensed Vocational Nurse 2 / Nurse

We have 32 medical sites located throughout the Greater Los Angeles, Pasadena/San Gabriel Valley, South Bay, Long Beach, and San Fernando Valley area.Responsible for performing patient oriented procedures at our El Monte site under the supervision of a provider or registered nurse to ensure that patients receive appropriate care.Directs patient to proper exam/treatment area and prepares patient for examinations and other procedures.
Assists in the transportation of patients and patient flow.
Obtains records and reports vital signs and any other pertinent patient information to the RN or provider.
Administers medication, performs various patient tests, and instructs patients on procedural preparation under the supervision of the provider or RN.
Notifies pharmacies of new prescriptions and authorizations of refills as ordered by the provider.
Collects, labels and transports various specimens to appropriate destination.
Maintains and cleans exam/treatment areas and medical equipment.
Maintains logs, records of medical procedures, and inventories of supplies.
Performs telephone screening.
Perform moderately complex Nursing procedures and /or performs specialized procedures within the scope of practice of a Licensed Vocational Nurse.Perform procedures requiring additional certifications (i.e. IV therapy & phlebotomy).
Adheres to Universal Precautions and safety policy and procedures at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Current licensure in the State of California.
A high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
One or two years of post-high school education or degree from a two-year college.
Up to and including 1 year of experience.
Over 1 year and up to and including 3 years of experience.
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers.
Additional certifications, IV therapy & phlebotomy.
