SUMMARY

To provide a professional source of investigations and brand protection advice for our client in Latin America.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Regional Investigations Director- Latin America will be the source of professional security expertise for the management of investigations and the handling of product security incidents on behalf of AZ Latin America. The incumbent will also provide professional expertise in the management of other investigations as the need arises. The responsibility of the function cannot be measured in conventional terms of budget and number of subordinates. The incumbent is required to undertake independent operations and self-accountable decisions in both pre-planned visits and incident/emergency quick-response situations. The Director will work for Global Security with an administrative dotted line report to RVP. Tasks include the case management of all investigations and the provision of advice in relation to brand protection and product security. The establishment and maintenance of high-level contacts and liaison with law enforcement, regulatory authorities, investigative consultants and counterparts in other companies is critical to success in this role.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•Lead and direct Latin America-based brand enforcement/counterfeit investigations with a view to providing detailed evidence of illegal trade and infringements to the appropriate authorities. Such investigations will be both numerous and concurrent
•Manage private consultants and contractors in pursuance of the above accountability.
•Promote the AZ Group Security Policy and Standards
•Identify and evaluate threats, vulnerabilities and consequent risks to AZ products throughout Latin America
•Quantify the risks in order to initiate protective strategies, develop countermeasures and formulate contingency and response plans
•Develop and maintain product security awareness, education and training including running seminars and workshops
•Respond to requests for advice and assistance from regional management by means of investigations and briefings
•Establish and maintain high-level contacts in national and international government, armed forces, security, intelligence and law enforcement agencies
•Establish and maintain contacts with security specialists in the industrial and commercial security sectors
•Work in concert with and report to Global Security whilst managing an independent investigative budget
•Assist Global Security, from time to time, with investigations and other matters within the region and which may require travel within and without that region.

DEVELOPMENT:

The Latin America Security Director will be a specialist investigator with focus on brand protection issues within Latin America. However the incumbent will be required participate in Global Security events and meetings and attend developmental courses as required by Global Security.
REQUIREMENTS
The Regional Case Manager Investigations, as, probably a specialist "second-careerists", must necessarily acquire professional knowledge, experience, expertise and contacts before joining this organization. Potential candidates' personal profiles are considered against the need to maintain a broad level of expertise and experience within Global Security. Desirable background includes elements of:

•Senior commercial/industrial security experience throughout the region
•Military/police service
•Staff officer/specialist training
•International security investigation training
•Command of a second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese)
•Commercial export/trade/marketing/sales knowledge
