Director of Research - Oncology

An outstanding leadership opportunity exists for an experienced scientist to join an established and very successful southern California company engaged in drug discovery and development. This person will lead a program focused on oncology-targeted therapy encompassing cell signaling, cell survival, target selection, and target validation.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications AND Requirements: PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, or other relevant discipline or an MD with a strong research focus
8+ years of oncology research experience in a drug discovery environment related to cell cycle and cell survival pathways
Strong record of achievement as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, patents, invited lectures, and other measures of success.
Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by management of multi-functional research groups
Experience leading drug development teams preferred
Outstanding communication skills
