POSITION SCOPE:
The Director of Pharmacy is a licensed professional who is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to Option Care patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Option Care, current pharmacy practice professional standards, and other regulatory entities. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the coordination of patient services with the nursing, delivery and reimbursement departments. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the appropriate budgeting, purchasing, control and security of all drug products and medical supplies. The director of pharmacy is responsible for assisting the General Manager meet operational and financial goals for the location. Management of the pharmacy operations will consist of 80-90% of the director of pharmacy’s time. REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
Licensed and in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
Five years experience compounding sterile products and managing complex infusion patients
Three years supervisory experience in a home health care setting
Three years experience overseeing purchasing and inventory process of all pharmaceutical and related substances and supplies
Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Active membership in a related state or national clinical, pharmaceutical, or home health care organization
Self-directed with excellent time management skills and able to work independently
Knowledge of state, federal, accrediting body and OSHA rules and regulations
Ability to get to the job site
Ability to work under stressful conditions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred
Post-graduate residency program in clinical pharmacy services
Board certification in Nutrition Support Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy or other clinical pharmacy practice area
Prior experience managing inventory and logistics.
