Clinical Programmer

A leading pharmaceutical company in the San Francisco area is looking for a clinical programmer. Responsibilities to include the following: Programming of validation and derivation procedures within the clinical database (for example, Oracle Clinical). Development of extraction programs, based on user requirements, for reporting and statistical analysis. Development and maintenance of custom line listings and reports (specific for clinical projects and studies). Design and construction of study databases for the collection of patient data within the clinical database (for example, in Oracle Clinical) in accordance with global standards. Provision of ad-hoc and technical support to clinical teams and functional groups. Cooperation with local and global study teams to achieve efficient solutions. Maintains knowledge of current global regulatory guidelines relevant to clinical Data Management as well as related PDOx SOPs, guidelines and best practices.Essential results expected from this position are:
Effective database programming support for PDOP clinical pharmacology projects and studies as assigned, including creation and implementation of validation and derivation procedures and creation and implementation of data extraction programs to be used for safety reporting and analysis of patient data. Effective implementation of software standards for assigned PDOP Clinical Pharmacology projects and studies. Effective implementation of PDOP Clinical Pharmacology and relevant client global standards. Effective communication with customers to ensure that assigned study- level reporting requirements are clearly communicated and agreed upon.Knowledge/ skill requirements:
Minimum level of education is Bachelors degree or equivalent in science or computer related subject. Two or more years experience in handling biomedical data and relational databases using PL/SQL and/ or SAS. Demonstrated computer programming skills. Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues. Problem solving initiative. Attention to detail. Oracle Clinical experience preferred.
