Clinical Pharmacy Tehnician

Brentwood, TN based Medicare health plan is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to perform duties related to our Medicare Part D benefit. Responsibilities will include:
Processing pharmacy prior authorizations.Supporting Pharmacy Director and Medical Director in all pharmacy benefit issues as well as all types of departmental operating issues.
Communicating with Medicare members and physicians regarding outcome of prior authorizations.Processing approval and denial letters
Interacting with physicians on all issues
Analysis of pharmacy data from claims systems
May be required to take call after hours or on weekends
REQUIREMENTS
ACTIVE CPhT from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is REQUIRED, no exceptions.Very strong clinical drug therapy knowledge and 2 years of retail pharmacy practice Experience with Medicare Advantage and Part D in a health plan setting preferred but not required
Customer service experience a must including excellent communication skills, a friendly attitude, and patience. Basic PC skills are required, specifically in Microsoft Excel and Word. Candidates should have proven ability to work independently. Must be a team player and a positive attitude is essential.
