Chemometrician (R4) Senior Scientist

The candidate would be responsible for the design and application of univariate and multivariate data analysis tools to data sets generated for active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products. Familiarity with a variety of spectroscopic instruments and data formats would be an advantage. The ability to apply similar multivariate principles to process parameter data sets such as MSPC, latent variable modeling techniques and MPC would be an advantage. The candidate would work with multiple project teams in support of the Right First Time initiative within the Co-Development process. One of the focal points of these analyses would be increased process understanding of our unit operations and contributing to the development of an integrated control strategy.
REQUIREMENTS
1. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
MINIMUM: PhD in Analytical Chemistry/Chemometrics
DESIRABLE: PhD in Analytical Chemistry/Chemometrics

2. WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
MINIMUM: The candidate is expected to have obtained a Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent, with a major focus on multivariate data analysis (analytical attributes and process parameters), MSPC, experimental design and chemometrics.

DESIRABLE: Additional skills that would be highly desirable are exposure to Vibrational spectroscopy instrumentation and data sets, troubleshooting of manufacturing unit operations, statistics concepts and chemical engineering experience. Programming experience with Matlab and familiarity with commercially available chemometrics packages.This is an opportunity for a fresh graduate or a graduate with a maximum of 2 years experience. Excellent inter-personal and team skills are a pre-requisite in order to integrate into the existing team.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES DESIRABLE: Good oral and written communications skills are a must for this position as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks at any one time. Timely completion of assigned tasks and the ability to work either independently or as part of a team are important assets.
