CLINICAL STAFF PHARMACIST

1-Distribution.
Dispenses and compounds medication orders.
Checks orders and pre-packing prepared by a technician.
Monitors and maintains workflow including supervising technical staff.
Accurately enters medication orders.
Monitors controlled substance distribution.
Assists with training of new pharmacists and technicians.
2-Clinical functions.
Develops skills in all clinical programs.
Performs documentation of interventions.
Participates in clinical programs.
Participates in formulary management.
Participates as unit liaison.
Participates in meetings and seminars relating to department.
Participates in patient education.
Assists and participates in in-service education programs.
Provides pharmaceutical care within age-specific parameters.
3-Financial functions.
Demonstrates commitment to cost control.
Assists in inventory management/maintenance.
4-Quality improvement.
Completes the Skills and Procedures Validation.
Assures completion of monthly medication area inspections.
Documents interventions as required.
Demonstrates understanding of all infection control guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm. D.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/ REGISTRATION: Illinois pharmacist license.
