Psychiatrist

Full position at Twenty Nine Palms Deployment Health Clinic located at the Naval Hospital 29 Palms, CA.

As directed, the Psychiatrist and Physician shall participate in outreach and marketing of the PDHRA (Post Deployment Health Reassessmment) program and services provided. As such, the healthcare workers shall liason with the Line Commanders, screen patients, provide treatment when appropriate, educate returning units on the availability of the service and coordinate follow-on care.

The Psychiatrist and Family practitioner shall work with the Militray Training Facility or contract provided Healthcare workers to schedule initialand follow-on appointments or referrals for service members before they leave the clinic or the screening at the Line unit.

The contractor Psychiatrist shall provide care for eligible patient referrals resulting from the DHC screening. Emphasis will be on the treatment of mental health to include post traumatic stress disorders and other combat related psychological symptoms. Family member care, related to deployment, may be included in the active duty member's scheduled sessions.

The contract psychiatrist will perform assessments, evaluations, consultations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association.

The contract psychiatrist and physician shall participate in providing educational sessions/breifings for returning units on deployment related illnesses/conditions and the realities of readjusting to life following deployment.

The contractor may be required to perform case management related to services for those patients that need follow on care.
REQUIREMENTS
Have graduated from a psychiatry residency program within the proceeding 12 months

OR

Possess residency training and not less than 3 years of experience within the last 5 years as a full time psychiatrist

OR

Possess board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Ostepathic Association.
