Merchandising -Buyer
JOB DESCRIPTION (to include but not limited to)

Apparel & Catalog Company seeks Seasoned Buyer!

· Develop compelling and saleable product for catalog and stores that meets sales as margin goals set for each fiscal year
· Shop for vendors that can augment the PD assortments w/trend. Quality product/competitive prices
· Make monthly selection presentation of market product to management
· Discuss and confirm prices, technical issues and catalog requirements for market selected product with vendors
· Build assortments that address the customers' evolving lifestyle and taste level
· Analyze historical information to build on success
· Review and present best sellers on a weekly basis
· Review store assortment plans by delivery with GMM
· Collaborate with design team in developing seasonal line plans and product categories
· Shop retail store for inspirational styles and samples for future product development
· Work with fabric qualities in order to add newness to assortments for each season
· Work with manufacturing teams and Merchandising liaison
· Partner and review with Planning/Allocation department (Control Buyer) on store assortments, markdowns and product allocation
· Review buys for catalog with Control Buyers to assure proper inventory levels for each catalog.
·Mentor and coach Assistant Buyer in all areas of the buying position.
· Present and discuss product features & benefits to Marketing at each catalog turn over meeting

REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelors degree or equivalent from four-year college; and five or more years related retail experience and/or training
· Management skills
· Multi-tasking/time management skills
· Experience in vendor buying, product development, catalog
· Outlook, Word, Excel
