JOB SUMMARY:

Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and clinical practice guidelines as outlined by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) as well as within a client and family centred care model and the vision and values of the organization. Provides respiratory care to clients of all ages with a variety of illnesses/diseases including, but not limited to acute and/or chronic respiratory illnesses or pathologies of the airway both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Enhances quality of life from the perspective of the client/family. Consults, confers and collaborates with other health care Professionals. Demonstrates continuous improvement and best practice approach in respiratory practice. Maintains and advances own clinical competence. Participates on designated committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution. Certification plus current membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT). Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).


Broad knowledge of CSRT standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines. Broad knowledge of current respiratory care theory and practices within a client/family centred model of care. Basic knowledge of research process and methodology. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement care plans.
