Hartford Hospital is an acute care hospital, located in the south end of Hartford Connecticut. The Hospital came into being in 1854 when a catastrophic explosion created the need to treat the many injured. In 1994, The Institute of Living, a psychiatric hospital founded in 1822, became the Mental Health Division of Hartford Hospital.
Today, Hartford Hospital is a major tertiary care and community health care center, serving a statewide patient population. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's Framework for Professional Practice. Functions as clinically competent. Delegates and supervises work appropriately. Reports to Unit Manager.As a teaching hospital, Hartford Hospital is a primary affiliate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Dentistry for both graduate and undergraduate medical education.

Hartford Hospital, along with MidState Medical Center, is a wholly-owned acute care subsidiary of Hartford Health Care Corporation (HHCC).
REQUIREMENTS
RN CT License. RN Diploma, Associate Degree, BS in Nursing, or BS, BA (non- Nursing. ) RN's with Women's Health experience preferred.
