RN - MDS CoordinatorCovenant Village of Colorado, a premier continuing care retirement community in Westminster, is seeking an RN - MDS Coordinator. This is primarily a day shift position but will be required to be on-call for one week each month. Prime responsibility is for the MDS sheets and care planning coordination for all Medicare residents in this 60 bed facility. Also responsible for the training and monitoring of additional nurses to the MDS process to assure facility wide compliance. REQUIREMENTSThis position requires a current RN license in the state of Colorado.A minimum of five years experience in nursing with at least three years experience in geriatric, restorative, or rehabilitative nursing.Other special skills include a thorough knowledge of the MDS, RAPS, and the Care Planning Process, and the Medicare A mandated timelines.Awareness of fiscal implications of MDS under the PPS of Medicare and the quality indicators derived from the MDS.Basic familiarity with computers or the ability to learn basic computer skills is needed.Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbal or written, in order to coordinate effective and efficient case management with all appropriate disciplines including residents and families.The person must have good organizational and interpersonal skills for motivating, directing, and coaching staff.Initiative and the ability to follow through are essential. .Good observational and assessment skills are required.This position requires availability on weekends and holidays, or on days and shifts other than those for which hired. It may also require work beyond normal working hours and in other related positions on a temporary basis as needs arise
