Nursing Director Rehab Hosp

DESCRIPTION: Full-time 40+ hours.The Director of Rehabilitation Nursing has 24-hour accountability for determining and maintaining standards of nursing practice at The Rehabilitation Hospital of Connecticut ("Hospital"). S/he is responsible for the coordination of daily patient care; management of personnel and material resources and staff development and evaluation. S/he is further responsible for maintaining effective collaborative relationships with the Medical Director and building strong collegial relationships with all members of the Medical Staff, the Director of Clinical Programs and Director of Admission and Referral. S/he will provide leadership for professional staff development, accreditation by JCAHO and CARF and other outside agencies and community recognition as a center for excellence. S/he will participate in marketing efforts as a member of the management team of The Rehabilitation Hospital of Connecticut, and work to enhance the practice and recognition of rehabilitation nursing in the region and state.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: B.S. required. Masters Degree required (one degree must be in Nursing).Experience: Five years progressive nursing experience including management experience.
Licensure: Current license to practice professional nursing in Connecticut.Skills: Certification in rehabilitation nursing and/or certification in advanced nursing administration.
