CLINICAL RESOURCE DIRECTOR

The primary responsibility will be to assist in developing and leading a program to drive the cost-effective clinical utilization of supplies, medication and equipment, and implement changes to processes or products to improve efficiencies and deliver cost-reductions for ProvSource supply initiatives. Manages broad scale projects and participates in specialty projects bringing specific knowledge base. Motivates, coordinates, develops and delivers high-quality product in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

1.Assess, list and lead specific utilization opportunities / process improvements for cost reduction within specialty. Work closely with clinical end-users to address needs, issues and implementation of cost-reduction strategies. Identify best practices, facilitate collaborative review of best practices with clinical end-users, and lead system wide sharing of peer-approved best practice guidelines.

2.Develop vision and strategies to support clinical preference utilization cost savings initiatives. Assess, develop and execute supply expense management processes related to specialty area. Analyze, present and provide team training regarding impact of utilization and process opportunities for cost reduction within specialty.

3.Execute efficient, cost-effective project management from beginning to end, meeting project timelines, including:

•Participated in initial project presentation and schedule management
•Contribute to planning / strategy sessions
•Coordinate team members’ schedules, production, workload and deliverables
•Develop and deliver high quality written product
•Monitor and track progress, quality customer satisfaction, financial impact, etc.

4.Investigate and establish specialty resource information to develop specific recommendations expanding knowledge and ability to support cost reduction.


5.Develops systematic implementation plans and contingency plans to support effective conversions. Manages and resolves conversion issues related to clinical and physician-preference supplies.

6.Ability to guide and lead a “virtual team” to support effective conversions with minimal resources at all sites and work with hospital on-site resources to roll out the implementation plan and support the process but not specifically to be on-site. This would allow the local folks the resource and support for implementation but they retain the responsibility.

7.Develop and implement informative utilization metrics to empower supply chain managers and clinical end-users to identify and monitor utilization issues and opportunities.

8.Develops complete “turn-key” conversion programs including evidence based data, clinical validation tools, implementation plan (including defining resource requirements for suppliers and hospitals), and inclusion of value added programs that support education and supply utilization programs.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Job Requirements/Functions:

MD
Knowledge of leadership principles/concepts required
Knowledge of budgetary concepts required
Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
Previous Healthcare/No salary Healthcare consulting experience a plus

Essential Behavior Skills:

Change agent ability to apply change management principals and processes to support commitment to change and holding the gain.

Strong organizations skills

Ability to lead and support virtual teams

Ability to find and read materials supporting clinical evidence based research to support supply decisions

Computer skills including ability to research clinical databases, use supply chain and utilization data to illustrate concepts, and develop utilization tools

Education or training experience is very desirable. Including knowledge of adult learning principles and change management

Presentation skills – including presentation development

Demonstrated ability to interact with clinicians and physicians toward successful product conversion outcomes.
