As a Clinical Nursing Operations Specialist with Gentiva, you will:
Assess office performance, both clinical and non-clinical, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, clinical practice standards and company policies, including performance improvement, service delivery and documentation requirements.
Provide clinical and non-clinical expertise to all levels of the field organization regarding interpretation of policies, processes, procedures, and accreditation standards and regulations. Develop and direct the implementation of plans of correction in branches as a result of assessment and in response to unfavorable survey outcomes.
Participate with departments and line management in providing feedback for the development and implementation of policies and processes, procedures and systems to ensure compliance and positive survey outcomes.
Conduct and/or participate in evaluation, performance assessment and improvement evaluations. Identify deficiencies in compliance with standards, regulations, coverage determinations, documentation, and quality indicators.
Provide expertise to branch directors and staff, as well as up-line management, regarding follow-up action for correction of deficiencies and identification of operational issues. Direct and monitor resolution of identified deficiencies in conditional level branches on behalf of the Governing Body to ensure ongoing compliance and make written/verbal reports to the Governing Body and its committees as requested.
Serve as a liaison between offices and regulatory affairs department on questions of coverage and documentation. Review/recommend modifications to company policies, procedures and processes as a result of their unique position as liaison to field operations in order to better comply with regulations/standards.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or the equivalent
Minimum of eight years experience in nursing of which three to four years were in homecare and Two years were in a DCOS/DCM role, preferably in a Certified Home Health Agency generally required
Current RN license required in the state of practice
Extensive knowledge in the areas of third party payer coverage, documentation, service delivery and the interpretation and application of regulations and performance improvement standards also required
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills
Assertiveness and ability to function independently and lead a team in a changing environment
