POSITION SUMMARY: APRN will be an active member of the Medical Staff at Natchaug Hospital. APRN will provide all services as approved by the Credentialing Committee and Board of Directors of the Hospital. Duties will include prescriptive authority and direct clinical care in all areas of specialized training.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience working with a mental health and chemically dependent population. Experience working in the role of prescriptive authority, providing pharmacological interventions in specialized populations.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Masters in Nursing (MSN) or other Master's Degree accepted by the State of CT for licensure as an APRN; Licensure as APRN, State of CT; Certification by National Organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES NOT LIMITED TO: Assessment and diagnosis of all aspects of mental illness as described by the DSM IV Manual. Initiation of pharmacological treatment/intervention for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. Performs evaluations on clients referred to the DCF-funded Juvenile Justice Intermediate Evaluation program. Provide direct care for individuals, families and group therapy as program indicates. Participate in all Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team meetings and communicate information pertaining to all aspects of clinical patient care. Participate in clinical supervision as directed by Medical Director and Attending Psychiatrist. Perform diagnostic and discharge summaries as required by hospital policy. Liaison relationship with community agencies (collateral) involved in the clincal care of individuals and families. REQUIREMENTS
