Skills Trainer

To provide skills training and life skills coaching to clients and families consistent with the mission and goals of assigned program(s) area; to help clients learn and use skills necessary to function in a variety of community settings; to support the clients development of prosocial behaviors and decrease problem behaviors by implementing treatment plan goals through direct work with the client; to work with the client and family toward client goal achievement; to produce written summaries of work to meet program, Agency and funding source documentational requirements; to meet established administrative requirements and productivity goals; to actively participate as a team member in a positive, cooperative and productive manner.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have excellent organizational, relationship, behavioral and communications skills, sensitivity to differences in culture, and knowledge of child development. Must be able to work in a team environment, in client homes, the office and in the general community in a positive and safe manner, engage and build positive relationships with clients at all ages of youth, prioritize responsibilities, and build rapport with a wide variety of individuals. Must have the ability to meet the professional standards and requirements for assigned duties and responsibilities which includes a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with major course work in a behavioral science or a closely related field. Experience in a direct client care residential, day treatment, foster care and/or community outreach program is highly desirable. Some positions may require specific years of applicable experience greater than that established above to meet program or contract requirements.
