Community Development Manager

Recruit, train and manage community volunteer committees in order to implement 5 Relay For Life Events. Maintain current community relationships and develop new relationships in assigned Relay For Life Communities. Cultivate working relationships with community organizations, corporations, and key civic groups. Regularly meet with and manage community volunteers to determine plans of action for each assigned event(s). Serving communities in the Border Sierra Region. Identify and nurture resources form which to recruit volunteers. Solicit assistance from current volunteers to recruit others. Ensure that sufficient training opportunities are available for new and existing volunteer team members. Understand and ensure compliance with all ACS and community policies, procedures and regulations. Monitor risk management activities for each venue/site. Participate on Regional Leadership Team. Attend regional, Division and National training programs as requested. Manage event related expense and revenue for (5) Relay For Life events. Expenses not to exceed 10% of revenue.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Education, Health or related field or equivalent combination of course work, work and life experience. Fluent in Spanish a definite plus. Minimum 2 years successful leadership role in nonprofit fund raising, volunteer development, community organization, program planning and staff management desired. ACS or other not-for-profit field experience a definite plus. Knowledge of the population and demographics of the community. Ability to work with and within the community with volunteers, community and corporate leaders. Must have the ability to travel by car and/or airplane to event/meeting sites throughout California and the country. Provide frequent logistics support at events/meetings including set-up and clean-up which may require repetitive lifting, and carrying of materials up to 25 lbs.
