Child Care Worker
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:child care, childcare, day-care, babysitting, toddler, daycare, teacher, teaching, infant
The group home program serves young adults with child, by being an agency for change, helping them to develop emotionally, physically, spiritually and intellectually promotes and produces healthy individuals. As a Child Care Worker, you have accepted the responsibility of supervising the young adults and children in your care 24 hours per day.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and supervise young adults and children at all times.
Record in full detail all pertinent information into unit logbook and appropriate forms as they apply, prior to leaving the facility.
All movements are to be recorded with in the unit’s logbook.
Adhering to program guidelines and schedules.
Enforce all safety rules and regulations.
Document and report all major and minor incidents.
Encouraging good personal hygiene and maintenance of the home, performance of chores and participation in shopping, meal preparation, and other household routines.
Provide young adults and children with necessary personal care items: towels linen, washcloth, toothbrush and paste, soap etc. as needed.
Monitor school attendance and performance of young adults and children.
Exercise firmness in requiring that young adults and children respect and live according to house regulations.
Accompany young adults and children appointments and recreational activities.
Unit keys and Logbook are to remain only in the possession of staff members, absolutely no young adults or children.
Provide a stable abuse and drug free environment.
Remember, you are a role model. REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma3 years in Child Development Program.
EXPERIENCE:
3 years proven experience with children in care.
Knowledge of developmental milestone.
Knowledgeable in Infant and child CPR.
Some nutritional knowledge
Knowledge of different feeding techniques
Knowledge of appropriate ACS/State regulations in disciplinary actions.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Certified in CPR and First Aide
Extensive organizational skills for working in a multi-task priority changing environment.
Ability to follow directions and communicate credible information in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to exercise enormous amount of patience.This position description contains the major responsibilities required to perform this job. These responsibilities may change at any time to meet the needs of our clients, residents, or Agency.
