Sr. Technical Producer, Digital Media

Purpose:
Digital Media Producer will focus on implementing and developing avenues to distribute KTLA content not only on mobile devices and the internet but enhancing KTLA’s website with fresh news content to add to the viewing experience of the KTLA Prime and Morning News Programs. Will also work closely with the sales department to create advertisement platforms for new business on the KTLA website. Requires one to be able to creatively formulate and execute a plan with the KTLA web master to ensure the website is kept current on a daily basis. Works closely with the morning news writers and segment producers to aid in the monitoring of breaking news, current events, investigative stories and segments covered by the KTLA Prime and Morning News programs. Knowledgeable about all aspects of segment producing and is able to produce, with supervision, an entire segment from start to finish. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) clip editing, pre-production documentation, field and studio segment planning, site surveys, uploading video and writing news copy to the KTLA website. Will work with producers on production elements that include research, tape logging, pulling file video, assisting with live guest and other duties as needed. Must be able to assist Producers to write and edit taped pieces, intros, voice-overs, create provocative and salient questions for each interview.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree and 1-3 years experience in television news production (Broadcast print writing – AP style preferred). Must have excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written. Strong accurate writing, organizational skills, and up-to-date on current affairs a must. Detail-oriented, able to follow directions, ability to perform duties, work well with others and make independent decisions under extreme pressure. Business needs also require individual to be able to work various shifts and times.
