Retail Advertising Manager

Salinas Newspapers, Inc., a Gannett Co., Inc. newspaper, has an immediate opening for a Retail Advertising Manager. We are seeking a high-performance sales manager who will be responsible for leading sales personnel in the development of media marketing solutions for local businesses. This person will be responsible for hiring, training, teambuilding and the overall sales performance and operation of the retail advertising department, directing sales activity and strategies to increase advertising market share and also responsible for overall goal setting, budgeting and forecasting.
REQUIREMENTS
Position requires 3+ years of advertising sales and management experience, leadership skills with strength in sales and negotiation processes. Applicant must be goal-oriented and self-directed with strong time management skills. Must effectively communicate orally and in writing with colleagues, customers and staff. Applicant should have a proven record as a motivator, leader of change, problem solver, as well as analytical skills for planning new products and promotions. A valid driver's license, proof of insurance and an acceptable driving record is required. Pre-employment drug testing is also required.
