Online Producer II

THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC ONLINE PRODUCER II The Arizona Republic is seeking an Online Producer to work within our Digital Media department. azcentral.com is the oldest and most-visited local site in Arizona, bringing together the state's largest newspaper, The Arizona Republic; its most-watched television station, KPNX-TV Channel 12; and the Valley's leading Spanish-language publication, La Voz.

The Producer II is responsible for publishing content to assigned sections on the company's website The individual in this role will be responsible for publishing original or on-line content moving from the copy desks, wires, or third party providers. This individual also selects and prepares photographs in cooperation with photo editors and the on-line editors and producers. Publishes graphics and photos on-line and multimedia as needed. Works with on-line news assistants and other staff members to pull together cohesive on-line packages, including writing headlines and editing copy as needed. Maintains close working relationship with originating editors and teams in all areas of the newsroom. Assures quality by proofing content as it is published on-line.

Individuals must meet the following requirements to be considered qualified for the position:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field

2-3 of news experience

HTML coding experience is preferred

Sound news judgment.

Must have solid editing skills (grammar, spelling, punctuation).

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.

Attention to details both in word editing and coding for electronic publication.

Ability to work well under pressure of multiple deadlines and assignments.

Must be able to work nights and weekends.
