Editor - Prattville Progress

The editor manages a newsroom staff of four and is responsible for conducting news meetings, compiling and maintaining story budgets to ensure reporters meet established requirements. They ensure all reporting, photography and pagination deadlines are met so that press deadlines are not compromised. The editor must have strong interpersonal skills and be willing to interact with the public, attend community functions and governmental meetings and be the newspaper's principal point person with the community. This position requires a Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of newspaper experience, to include copy editing. Management experience a plus. Salary will be $37,200 - $55,800 per year, depending upon experience. This position requires a valid drivers license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
