Digital Imaging Artist

Its widely respected brands include ACNielsen, Nielsen Media Research, Billboard, Adweek, and The Hollywood Reporter, among many others.The Hollywood Reporter, a VNU publication, has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Imaging Artist in its Los Angeles office. The Digital Imaging Artist process and prepare images for the Daily, Online, electronic and Features publications of The Hollywood Reporter but will also provide assistance to other publications and projects as needed. Processing involves color analysis and correction, scaling, retouching, compositing of photos and illustrations and collaborating on production of in house original art using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. The number of files processed averages between 40 and 50 a day.Qualifications
Must have minimum of 3-5 years experience in CMYK prepress. The position requires a working knowledge of four-color printing and required to have advanced level of Photoshop skills in:
color correction, image editing/sizing, artistic requests (clipping paths, cut-outs, background changes). Must also possess strong communications skills and physical follow-through in creative process of: ideas, concept and creative and collaborative process between various artists - Art & Design Directors. Color theory, CMYK ink density measurement and color correction, retouching and compositing in Adobe Photoshop CS and CS2. Eye for photography is necessary. Macintosh operating system 0SX and higher; Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator 9.x and Quark Xpress. Flexible, detail-oriented and capable of working under highly stressful, multi project & deadline environment. Knowledge and understanding of photo archiving software such as Fotoware FototStation a plus. Experience in magazine design and page layout helpful.
