MWH is seeking qualified applicants for a Sr. Federal Proposal Manager for the Broomfield, Colorado headquarters office.
The Sr. Proposal Manager will support strategic marketing pursuits undertaken by Creative Services in support of MWH's Federal Group. Possesses a broad knowledge of Marketing principals and procedures; applies Marketing principles to a wide variety of complex transactions within a matrixed organization; and demonstrates excellent inter-personal skills. Is driven by a strong will to succeed and to deliver quality products. Manages a variety of marketing and sales submittals in support of the Federal Group. Provides proposal guidance and management to research, compile, proof, and edit text and graphics; maintains selected marketing databases; develops presentations and other marketing collateral; and performs other supporting tasks as needed. The nature of submittals will vary from SOQs and qualifications-based documents, to multiple volume proposals containing qualifications, technical approaches, and cost/schedule information. The value of opportunities resulting from proposals will range from thousands to millions of dollars. The position will be based in Broomfield, CO office and will report to Creative Services Federal Account Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Defines and refines budgets; organizes and assigns proposal resources; assesses requirements of RFPs; compiles proposal outlines, compliance matrices, schedules, and assigns writing responsibilities; assumes writing responsibilities; and directs and manages proposal reviews.
2. Manages and provides guidance to proposal teams including other marketing personnel, consultants, graphics/design personnel, and technical and non-technical writers from throughout the MWH organization.
3. Manages a variety of proposals, SOQs, presentations, and sales information and deliverables.
4. Supports marketing presentations for proposal follow-up and/or other sales purposes.
5. Researches and compiles information from a variety of databases and data sources (including resumes, project descriptions, boilerplate text, etc.).
6. Assists with writing, editing and proofreading text and graphics, as necessary on proposal assignments.
7. Assists with archiving proposal elements into Marketing databases.
8. Assumes proposal support roles, which may include organizing, managing, and/or writing responsibilities for individual sections or volumes.
In an interdepartmental team environment position may lead and organize the work of associate, professional, and senior level personnel. Will be required to have excellent managerial, supervisory, coordination, organizational, and general 'people skills', including strong written and verbal communication skills. Will be required to provide management and guidance to other personnel, including a variety of marketing, technical, and non-technical people throughout the organization. Supervisory responsibilities will include the ability to create highly effective and efficient teams and successful team working atmospheres. Must be able to effectively deal with a variety of personality types, and to drive teams to produce high-quality deliverables. Supervisory responsibilities will require superior organizational skills, the ability to create and communicate effective outlines and schedules, and to complete work on time under tight deadlines. Must be comfortable working in high-stress, deadline-driven environment, with consecutive, high profile and highly strategic projects.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Five to eight years of prior marketing/technical experience is required, including a progressively increasing level of responsibility during the past three years.
2. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
3. Degree in marketing, journalism, communications, business or applicable field or a technical/scientific discipline related to MWH's core business.
4. A basic understanding of MWH's industry (environmental remediation, civil engineering and consulting, and construction related to these fields) is required.
