Senior Marketing Analyst
Purpose:
Senior Marketing and Planning Analyst
The Los Angeles Times has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing Analyst in our Advertising Marketing Department. This department has responsibility for planning and leading the implementation of advertising business initiatives, including new product development, pricing, and marketing programs.
The Analyst will monitor key business and advertising trends and will develop a thorough understanding of purchase habits by customers of the Los Angeles Times. In addition, the Marketing and Planning Analyst will contribute analytical support and specific category/product/region knowledge to the Marketing team.
The Analyst will also help support the marketing team by preparing marketing presentations that communicate the unique value of the Los Angeles Times and all of the brands. The Analyst is also responsible for supporting promotional projects. The selected individual will team with Marketing Manager and category Advertising sales reps and managers to identify client needs and develop effective presentations.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Ability to structure, formulate, analyze, and recommend solutions to business problems and opportunities.
Well-developed analytical abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to operate effectively in a team environment.
Investigative skills and thorough understanding of marketing research data for creating sales presentations.
Capable of originating, producing, and presenting a meaningful selling story.
Ability to write creative presentations, manage projects and meet deadlines
Act as project manager for promotions related projects including creating sell sheets, creating e-mail blasts and sending promotional items to Advertisers.
BA or BS degree required
