Job Description:
Hotwire has an exciting opportunity for a Copywriter to work on Hotwire’s creative team, writing the copy for Travel Ticker by Hotwire, Hotwire’s new and exciting travel deals product. http://www.hotwire.com/travelticker/index.jsp The ideal candidate has a strong creative background and the ability to write fun, inspirational travel merchandising copy with a strategic and compelling style. The candidate will be expected to execute copy needs quickly and efficiently, work closely with visual designers to produce smart, effective copy, and collaborate with the copy team and the larger creative team. The right candidate will have a can-do attitude and enjoy working in a team environment. The Copywriter will work closely with producers and product managers to maintain copy consistency, quality and timelines. They will also work with the User Interface team on developing consistent UI copy for both hotwire.com and the Travel Ticker website.

Core responsibilities of this position include:
Creating engaging, promotional travel copy for email communications and the site that supports business objectives, adheres to established brand voice and meets legal requirements, with minimal direction.
Collaborate and coordinate with other copywriters, designers, producers, project owners and legal counsel to maintain copy standards and process flow.
Lead copy projects and other creative initiatives proactively, (e.g. redesign of templates, style guide, or process improvements) setting deliverables and deadlines, and helping to drive projects to completion
Collaborate with UI team on site enhancements and initiatives that require clear, concise User Experience copy.

Successful candidates will have:
Strong writing and editing skills, including experience creating concise, compelling direct response interactive/online copy within tight schedule constraints.
An understanding of marketing/advertising copy strategies
A strong interest in travel merchandising
Strong attention to detail
Experience writing copy in online consumer, travel or retail industries
Demonstrated expertise in writing for an established brand
Professionalism and mature sense of accountability

Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of professional writing experience, preferably a combination of
in-house marketing, and agency/advertising work
Strong portfolio showcasing work for established brand(s) in e-commerce, travel and/or retail industries
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, English, Journalism, or a related field
