Senior Assistant BuyerPosition Summary:
Assist Buyer with the planning, purchasing, controlling and merchandising of assigned lines to maximize the effectiveness of the Buying unit and achieve sales, profits and market share objectives.Principal Responsibilities:
Provide input to the Buyer in building detailed assortment plans for assigned lines and practices exception based management, identifying issues and recommending solutions to Buyer.With administrative support, assist Buyer in the execution of all related merchandising activities including monitoring and tracking OTB, timing and execution of purchase order management, including creation of master purchase orders, and provisions of master order details.Assist Buyer with marketing plans and strategies including reviewing items, manuscripts, etc... Communicate purchase order cancellations, revisions, and RTV to suppliers.Utilize the merchandise information system to develop assortment plans; ensures accurate systems maintenance for common lot, PDB, etc., in accordance with the established standards.Assist Buyer and Media Manager in developing catalog assortment, meeting catalog timing needs with regard to sample procurement, estimating process and merchandise delivery.Utilize and stay up-to-date on all available systems.Assist in the preparation of plan-o-grams, floor lay-outs/adjacencies, planners, and the development of visual standards.Education:
College degreeExperience:
6 - 8+ years' merchandising experience, including at least 2 years as an Assistant Buyer: understanding and use of information management (PC skills); ability to collaborate with process team members; understanding of customer merchandise preferences; ability to recognize, analyze, and quantify market trends.Core Competencies:
