POSITION SUMMARY:

The Public Relations Manager for Citysearch will have the responsibility for driving media relations activities for the company. He/she will be instrumental in driving awareness and shaping the reputation of the Citysearch brand to help the company achieve its business objectives. The Manager will have the personal style to work effectively in this company, which can be characterized by a high caliber workforce consisting of smart, results-oriented business people in an entrepreneurial setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Drive the creation and management of media relations efforts, including program for (but not limited to) print, online, broadcast
Utilizing experience with the newer communications outlets, such as forums and blogs, to help reach the divisions business objectives
Developing strong, ongoing relationships with key press
Develop and write media pitches, news releases, backgrounders and other press materials
Identify issues and opportunities for the company to the “in front of”, and cultivate the company’s executives as spokespersons on these topics.
Work closely with marketing and the product marketing team to leverage Citysearch’s existing educational content in public relations outreach
Measure outcomes and results of public relations efforts beyond “counting clips”

EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, marketing or business.
Minimum of 4 years; prefer 5-6 years experience in public relations, marketing or related fields.
