Reports to: Director-Truckload Marketing and Sales

Duties:

Assist the Domestic Intermodal team to achieve growth targets and maximize profits by conducting strategic analysis for Domestic Intermodal business to identify opportunities for growth and improving margins. Assist with the development of pricing plans supporting the Domestic Intermodal financial plan. Develop and apply metrics and reporting tools to evaluate performance of different domestic business segments. Provide analytic support for Domestic Intermodal sales managers. Develop presentations to communicate BNSF’s strategy to the customers and business partners. Assist with market research projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in transportation, marketing, logistics, finance, or economics, and two to three years’ business-related work experience preferred. Must understand and anticipate customer needs. Must be able to build and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers, coworkers, and representatives from other departments and organizations. Must be able to manage conflicts and disagreements constructively and adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities in ambiguous situations. The successful candidate should have experience in gathering and synthesizing market information, preparing marketing strategies and planning, and applying forecasting techniques. Must be able to draw, manipulate, and interpret information from multiple data sources. Must be able to build complex business models, analyze results, and develop useful and innovative insights and recommendations. Must be able to communicate ideas in a clear, concise and understandable manner, verbally and in writing. Additional valued competencies: knowledge of the transportation industry, BNSF Consumer Products marketing and sales strategies.
