The successful candidate will be a key member of RIM's Product Management team. The individual will be expected to be the product champion for new BlackBerry Wireless Handheld offerings both internally as well as externally. The Product Manager will identify, plan and bring to market new BlackBerry handheld solutions. The successful individual looks forward to daily interaction with all engineering and technology groups. The team player will act as the main contact for technical PM support for his/her new and in-life products and work with the teams to ensure customer commitments and risks are being managed. The Product Manager will also be responsible for technology prime ship for several new technologies and become a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in those areas for the larger PM team. In addition, the Product Manager will provide support as needed for carrier facing activities.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
An engineering degree is mandatory.
A minimum 5 years directly working with/or within a wireless product manufacturer or wireless handset carrier.
Experience defining new high technology products and successfully bringing those products to market is required.
A demonstrated understanding of both the technical as well as business issues involved with those products is necessary.
The candidate must have demonstrated capabilities to multi-task in a fast paced environment in both leadership and team roles.
A good understanding of handset technology and engineering developments as well as handset manufacturing is required.
