Online Marketing Copywriter

Pacific Sunwear, also known as PacSun, is a rapidly growing and extremely successful specialty retailer of casual apparel, footwear and accessories designed to meet the lifestyle needs of active teens and young adults. Our corporate office is located in Anaheim and is equipped with a cafe, workout room with showers, basketball and volleyball court.POSITION SCOPE
Working as part of a small creative team, you will lend your writing, editing and proofreading expertise to the production of a wide range of marketing and communications materials, including e-mails, website, print signs, packaging, and more. Your expertise in writing punchy slogans or taglines that deliver a brand-appropriate marketing message will be used frequently. You will also be the creative lead on select projects, and must be able to conceptualize and complete projects with minimal direction. You need to have solid editing and proofing skills; be able to translate our brand through all vehicles; have the ability to translate technical features into benefits, and be a great team player. Our ideal candidate will also have project management experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Write taglines and creative briefs for e-mail, edit website product copy, create online merchandising copy, and work on various copywriting projects with brand marketing. Drive online style guide creation and oversee website lifestyle content development to support seasonal marketing campaigns.
Liaising with other PacSun employees and departments about projects and ideas, and obtaining approvals.
Contribute to the online marketing calendar and occasional QA
In addition to the performance of the job responsibilities mentioned above, this position may be required to perform supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based on the particular requirements of the operation. These job responsibilities are subject to change in accordance with business necessity and may include but are not limited to: marketing, of the site, working with partners and vendors to develop strategies in support of both on-line and in-store marketing campaigns. REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION - SKILLS - EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in English/Journalism or equivalent experience.
4-6 years editorial/web experience, preferably for retail or teen audience
Expertise in writing punchy slogans or taglines that deliver a brand-appropriate marketing message.
Advertising copywriting a plus
Strong writing and editing skills
Superb attention to detail & strong communication skills
Appreciation for California lifestyle
Knowledge of appropriate MS office applications
Ability to drive creative projects from inception to completion with little guidance.
