Merchandising Manager, Video Games

The North America Video Games team is looking for exceptionally motivated and talented Merchandising Managers to drive margin improvement through highly-focused vendor account management and creative promotional activities.



General areas of responsibility include:



VENDOR RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENTServe as primary merchandising liaison between Amazon and assigned Video Games vendor partners Establish new merchandising initiatives & campaigns in support of demand generation and margin improvement Partner with existing vendor base to negotiate merchandising agreements and develop new incentive programs Help lead supplier/publisher business reviews Analyze, set, and track vendor performance against ROI and landed-cost profitability goals

MERCHANDISE MANAGEMENTEffectively drive creative and innovative merchandising solutions across a varying set of vendors and products Work in tandem with Category Management & Site Merchandising teams to maximize sales and margin by developing and executing vendor- and category- level inventory and promotional strategies Help drive the negotiation of new merchandising agreements as well as optimize existing ones Assist in the development of new site merchandising initiatives and projects Track campaign performance to aid in forecast and vendor ROI analyses Help partner with vendors to determine effective, results-oriented merchandising strategies

GENERAL PROJECT MANAGEMENTWork with various internal teams to help drive tools and process improvements that affect merchandising and vendor management workflows Troubleshoot and drive resolution for systemic issues that preclude margin enhancement
REQUIREMENTS


The ideal candidate possesses superb business judgment with a track record of successful vendor negotiations and overall relationship management (both internal and external). He/she is a self-starter who delivers results and can work with other team members to drive results. The position requires an individual who can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses. He/she is adept at problem-solving and managing multiple priorities effectively and efficiently. Communication skills (both oral and written) are also key. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is preferred, as well as an agility to learn web-based software applications and other internally-developed systems. A background in retail or e-commerce is desired.
