Merchandise Planner

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the creating, validating, analyzing, and executing of the category based merchandise plans to achieve maximum business results. Develop and implement the financial and assortment strategies at the department/sub-department level. Implement assortment guidelines (develop assortments plans to maintain sku productivity). Manage the financial business (receipts, markdowns, markup, inventory to plan). Forecast business trends and recommend strategies. Manage inventory, turnover, and receipt flow (OTB management). Manage aged inventory, markdown and liquidation strategies. Participate in improvement of merchandise processes and systems. Accountable for overall financial deliverables for departments. Analyze performance of business goals/recommend action plan to maximize results.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A.A. required
B.A./B.S. preferred
5-8 years experience in business and merchandising
Effective communication and presentation skills
Excellent relationship, teamwork, and partnering skills
Demonstrated business savvy through strategic development, financial management, analytical thinking and problem solving
Knowledge of merchandise planning, retail math, forecasting and trend analysis
Proficiency with Merchandise I.S. Systems, financial planning and spreadsheet software
Knowledge of the product development process
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
