Media Buyer
The job -
This position is responsible for planning, purchasing, and maintaining media schedules for various clients in multiple markets. Essential duties include:
Create and maintain existing vendor relations
Placement of media to always include added value
Aggressive negotiation with media vendors to satisfy both client and agency objectives
Stewardship of all schedules and their changes including new programming, makegoods, plan revisions, etc.
On-going and Post Buy analysis
Work with Traffic Manager to ensure creative is distributed properly and timely
Reconcile billing and approve media invoices
Market Research for existing clients as well as potential new business

REQUIREMENTS
Thorough knowledge if television, radio, print and out-of-home media
1-3 years of hands-on buying experience
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a large volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to work autonomously with little supervision and be a highly motivated self-starter
Keen sensitivity to a deadline-driven environment with willingness to work a flexible schedule
Strong problem solving skills, accountability, and integrity
Excel, Word and SmartPlus are absolute requisites
Some PowerPoint knowledge
Experience with media research tools such as SQUAD, SRDS, CMR, MRI, AdViews, Scarborough, Marshall Marketing, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication
