Marketing/PR Specialist

Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for managing the development and execution of a variety of internal and external communications including: presentations, brochures, data sheets, customer newsletters, case studies, executive briefs and other electronic and print materials. You will assist in communications planning and handle day-to-day PR activities which include press requests, media advisories, press releases, and byline article creation. In addition, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for the content and ongoing development of the corporate web site and internal web portals. You will work with internal and external groups including agencies, web development, product marketing, product management, and sales.
Primary responsibilities are the following:
Develop/manage internal and external communication projects including creative and production phases and complete regular updates to materials as needed.
Write and edit copy to ensure product and key business messages are consistently included.
Manage internal and external resources associated with marketing communications projects.
Manage the content needed to maintain web presence including corporate and internal sales portals. Maintain consistent look and feel of web sites ensuring adherence to corporate brand standards.
Define and report on relevant web metrics including site traffic and inquiry rates.
Successfully manage marketing communication projects in alignment with timelines and budgets.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree from top tier college preferred. Degree in Marketing or Marketing Communications would be ideal.
4-6 years experience in marketing or marketing communications with a focus on business-to-business.
Experience working in advertising agencies, public relations and/or corporate marketing departments preferred.
Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion with limited direction.
Proven ability to write persuasive marketing materials.
Demonstrated success in using the Web to support marketing and sales efforts.
Working knowledge of web development and design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, HTML and Flash.
Proficiency in MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) is required.
Team player with a collaborative working style and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Creative thinker with an eye for design and a strong attention to detail.
