Marketing Associate

Under general supervision, provide marketing and administrative support for marketing department. Tasks would include coordinating or assisting with trade shows, promotional items, presentations, databases, advertising, public relations, web site, and many other marketing functions. Many of the marketing functions are performed in both Spanish and English and the coordinator would have to be proficient in speaking and writing in both languages. Travel is involved; both domestically and internationally. The position requires an enthusiastic, professional, cooperative and committed attitude.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the production of routine promotional printed materials and goods.
Aid in the design, production, and writing of marketing materials.
Design less complex promotional brochures or related materials. Use basic graphic design terminology, layout and design standards.
Assist with concept development and layout for design of marketing material.
Assist in the collation, copywriting and proofing of publicity material. Proof read with accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintain inventory of marketing, promotional, and trade show materials.
Create and maintain marketing files, records, calendars, logs and other documents.
Use Computers and software to enter data and print letters, tables, reports, and other material.
Coordinate with outside vendors and other departments to finish projects in a timely manner.
Identify audience and appropriate media.
Coordinate logistics for tradeshows.
Assist in the booking and management of the advertising.
Set up and maintain photo library and press coverage and editorial records.
Assist in the organization and running of marketing events.
Set up and maintain mailing lists of prospective customers.
Gather and collate data as required e.g. from market research campaigns and advertising campaigns.
Perform a range of staff and/or operational support activities as assigned.
Assist in managing selected marketing projects as requested by the Marketing Manager.
Develop an understanding of our business, marketing materials and business jargon, the unique point of difference and our products / services.
Be willing and able to learn the products and work in a sales support role if needed
Adhere to budgetary constraints.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Trade shows involve setting up and dismantling of trade show booths. In addition, the typical trade show requires a full-day of standing.

WORK HOURS: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30p.m. Monday - Friday


Job location is San Marcos, CA

Compensation: $17/hr plus benefits
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Public Relations. One to three years of marketing experience, to include involvement in implementing marketing programs and materials
Bilingual (Spanish and English languages).
Basic understanding of design software including Photoshop, Quark, and Illustrator.
Capable and willing to travel. (Travel approximately 5-10% of time)
