Chevron Global Downsteam - Lubricant Company is accepting online applications for an Advertising and Promotion Manager for North America (0609-5009323) located in San Ramon, CA through October 6, 2006.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The North America Lubricants Business is fast approaching the Billion dollar mark. Chevron Products Company, a division of the Chevron Corporation, is a leader in the lubricants industry with highly respected brands including Chevron Delo and Texaco Havoline engine oils. Currently we are seeking advertising and marketing professional to help lead advertising and promotion strategy development and execution supported with a multi-million dollar budget. The focus of this position is primarily on advertising.
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Manage advertising and promotion strategy development for consumer, commercial and industrial markets.
- Manage the advertising process for Chevron’s North America Lubricants.
- Manage all Consumer and Trade Promotions for CVX North America Lubricants.
- Manage the Advertising and Promotions budget for all segments within North America Lubricants.
- Manage the Advertising Agency Relationship and align North America advertising and promotional strategies with the Global functional model.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required in / Master’s degree preferred in Mass Communications, or any Marketing or Business Management Discipline.
- May accept a minimum of 10 years experience in a corporate marketing communication management role, account management (Account Manager and above) in an advertising agency or the equivalent Management position (Brand Manager or above) in a marketing organization.
- Relocation benefits will be considered.
- This is not a safety sensitive Position.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Process Management: This position needs a unique combination of being highly creative while ensuring that project management and process skills are used to ensure that all A&P campaigns are geared to position NAL brands to be the best in class in chosen segments.
- Strategy Deployment: Position requires minimum 2 years experience in strategy development leadership. The ability to translate BU goals, brand messaging etc into highly creative A&P execution by choosing the 'right marketing mix' - to gain maximum impact. Evaluation of sponsorship and promotional propositions to provide the right platform for the brands to grow - Analyze market conditions in respect to NAL's goals and articulate the best way to influence the customer to remain loyal (or in the case of a new customer) to motivate trial.
- Leadership: Position requires experience in leading teams around strategy development or significant projects. This function operates as the interface between the BU's and the agency. The candidate has to have strong Leadership and organizational skills to align BU's and the agency towards achieving the most appropriate and cost effective marketing mix for NAL's brands. Position is one of three senior colleagues of the Marcom team who will be responsible to shape the marketing-led organization.
- Achievement: The ability to create a significant Share of Voice in a high clutter market with limited dollars is clearly a challenge. The prudent use of this budget to reflect leadership in chosen segments is very vital. The ability to gain the maximum 'bang for the buck' by leveraging global contracts (agency, print etc) without compromising NAL's position is crucial. Successful candidate will be able to bring past experience (either from the agency or client side of the business) to create significant SOV for NAL brands.
- Team Work: Ability to use prior expertise and lead cross functional team by example. Provide for a well motivated and energetic team.
