The primary responsibility for this position is worldwide Field Support, delivered at the Customer site. Responsibilities include both pre and post sales technical activities and include support for sales calls, demos, webinars, or RFP responses. Responsibilities will also include resolving any escalated technical issues to ensure ongoing Customer success and satisfaction. Additionally, the position will contribute to Support Planning, New Product Introduction, and Support Enablement functions as indicated below.
The successful candidate will provide direct field support by assisting the sales organization in support of presales activities such as onsite visits, webinars, conference calls and RFP responses. The ideal candidate will escalate presales support to the primary field SE organization supporting sales activity to resolve any sales objections or obstacles at the direction of Support Engineering. Also to provide onsite technical support to resolve or further characterize escalated issues, and provide onsite implementations support for complex or high profile Customers and technical assistance for events such as tradeshows or sales meetings.
The ideal candidate will support planning by reviewing System & Functional Specification to identify usability, interoperability, integration and supportability issues. Provide recommendations to resolve or minimize those issues and ensure supportability requirements are included, define information, tools, and training required to support the product, and execute Beta test plans, ensure plans are complete, exceptions reported and final findings documented. The successful candidate will support enabling by providing training and assistance to designated internal service organizations such as Training, Technical Support, Professional Services, and System Engineering to ensure successful support delivery to the Customer, and training and assistance to designated Partners to ensure successful support delivery to the Customer.The successful candidate will be involved in new product introduction by working with Support Engineering and the Product Team, validate readiness of a new release or incremental product from the field's perspective. Also deliver product-specific product, technology, and related systems training to Technical Support, Professional Services, Training Department and SE organizations to ensure continuing support for the new product or version, and review documentation for accuracy and usability.The ideal candidate will preferably have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with 10-15 years of experience in a field support role working directly at the customer site is required. Some significant portion should include both pre and post sales experience as well as Professional Service delivery, and knowledge and practical work experience would include supporting Linux/UNIX, SQL database, web applications, Network Management Platforms, and LAN/WAN technologies and protocols. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to create presentations and training materials. The delivery should include platform instruction, sales presentations, or webinars. Experience should include collaboration with software development teams to resolve critical problems. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to respond to RFPs is also required. Work experience should also include actual sales calls and demonstrations to decision makers at all corporate levels, including C level executives. The future employee's work experience should also include verifiable new product introductions. As this is a technical position, work experience should include verifiable technical role supporting such activities as tradeshows and sales meetings.It's an exciting time at CA.
