Director of Marketing

SUMMARY
Responsible for establishing, coordinating and administering all marketing functions within the Bank. In consultation with executive management, will develop goals, objectives & priorities for the bankâ??s business development, advertising, market research and public relations functions. Other responsibilities include: planning, implementation and management of all media advertising activities and development & enhancement of retail banking products & services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Others may be assigned as needed.
Coordinates the bankâ??s future market growth plans (long-term marketing objectives) with regard to products, services, and markets
Coordinates and administers, with direction from executive management, the bankâ??s long-range strategic planning activities
Researches, analyzes, and monitors the financial, technological, and demographic factors that may affect the present and future needs of the bankâ??s customers, product mix, and distribution system(s)
Maintains a served-market analysis defining the total market, company market share, competitor market share, and available market share by product market
Acts as liaison with the Bankâ??s ad agency
Acts as a liaison between the bank, its customers and all types of media
Utilizes CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to identify marketing opportunities and implements accordingly
Works in conjunction with branch administration to implement market specific programs
Works with Product Analyst to determine market segment opportunities
Plans and implements the bankâ??s advertising and promotion activities; may include copywriting, design, layout, paste-up, and production of promotional materials
Assists with forecasting, then implementing and monitoring, the marketing departmentâ??s operating budget
Supervises, evaluates and counsels the marketing staff

Supervisory Responsibilities
Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning hiring, staffing, training, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations. Provides leadership by example at all times, through support and endorsement of bank policy.
Directly supervises all Marketing Personnel

Knowledge of bank policies and programs
Knowledge of federal & state regulatory requirements in regards to bank products, services & marketing
Awareness of marketing developments in the financial institution field
Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints
Excellent communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and comprehension skills
Ability to reason and make sound decisions

Education and/or Experience
Bachelorâ??s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with a major in marketing, business administration or related area and a minimum of five (5) yearsâ?? experience in marketing in the financial arena
