Director, Marketing - Direct Mail Services

The Director of Shared Marketing Services is a senior level position within Credit Card Services. This position is responsible for the management of the Marketing Operations team across Credit Card Services.
The Marketing Operations team is responsible for the execution, budget and delivery of all mailings across card services. This also includes managing the vendors, vendor relationships, contracts, quality control and postal services that are involved with the mailings. The Marketing Operations team needs to ensure flawless execution within budget for these mailings.
1.Manages the Marketing Operations team with direct supervision of Senior Managers and other project management personnel.2.Responsible for the project management methodology, processes, tools and other tasks related with Marketing Campaigns.3.Manages all vendors and functional areas across Card Services including purchasing that are involved with supporting origination and portfolio mailings.4.Works with Finance and other members to assist in the development, management and cost containment of budgets related to all monthly mailings.5.Assists with managing vendor relationships including contract negotiations, addenda and renewals, performance and quality metrics, additional business opportunities etc.6.Works with Finance to ensure that vendors and purchasing are delivering best-in-industry pricing and that the actual expenses are in line with the budget.7.Responsible for the quality of mailings and ensuring that it is inline with industry best in class.8.Responsible for the delivery of metrics and communication with the portfolios and finance around speed, quality and cost of the mailings.9.Remains technically abreast of changes, advancements and improvements within the Direct Mail industry specifically including Print Production, US Postal Services and Logistics.10.Sets departmental focus and direction, facilitates regular staff meetings, establishes goals and objectives, and conducts performance reviews to build and manage a motivated, productive team.11.Responsible for staffing plans, and the selection and development of personnel for the Marketing Operations team. Establishes and monitors objectives and performance through formalized goal setting, project planning and performance management process. Administers human resources policy as appropriate.12.Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

job Requirements


1. Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Sciences, Business Administration or related field, with an MBA/Masters Degree and 2+ years post-MBA related product/project management strongly preferred.2. Requires 5-7 years of practical business experience with increasing responsibility, proven experience in operations analysis and project implementation.3. Strong presentation and communication skills required, with the ability to articulate issues to senior management.4. This position requires exceptional project management, organizational and oral/written communication skills.5. Previous work experience in Direct Marketing especially Direct Mail at a large credit card issuer or any other large mailer.6. Experience with large Direct Mailings of multi-millions of pieces.7.
