Consultant-Marketing

Scope: This consultant level employee will be responsible for local area marketing initiatives, event and sponsorship support/coordination, internal employee programs, get well programming for opportunity markets/stores, and assist with the scheduling of the Verizon Wireless street team. This position will report directly to the Manager of Marketing Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Identify local area marketing needs in retail sales locations and develop relevant programs/tools to drive traffic to retail sales and exclusive partner locations. 25%
Develop and track reports on the success of local area marketing initiatives in region.15%
Execute on and support regional special events and sponsorship programs. 20%
Assist with the development of programs, tools and resources for "get well" retail locations and opportunity markets for region. 15%
Establish and maintain effective communication between the Pacific Northwest Region and Area/Corporate marketing organizations to maximize opportunities for the region with an emphasis on local area marketing. 7%
Perform regularly scheduled location visits to identify and document needs, assisting in the overall improvement of operational performance of the retail and indirect channels through feedback, recommendations and strategy development. 15%
Benchmark against other companies, within and outside of the wireless industry, who have proven success with multi-segment marketing. 3%
Job Requirements
Relevant experience in the telecommunications or wireless industry a plus, but not required.
Marketing experience preferred (2-3 Years).
Retail sales background/experience helpful.
BS, BA or relevant experience required.
Ability to work under pressure, on multiple assignments, with strong attention to detail.
Proven success in strategy, project planning, and execution preferred.
Must be self-motivated and able to operate independently
Ability to partner with various functional teams in support of key initiatives
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Basic Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Database proficiency required.
Bilingual preferred, but not required.
Travel within the Pacific Northwest Region required.
Flexible schedule due to special events, which may include evenings and weekends.
