Analog Hardware & Monitor Loudspeaker Product Mgr.

We seek an experienced Product Manager to specify and oversee development of microphone preamplifiers, channel strips and studio monitor speaker products, as well as conduct market analysis and business development activities associated with these products.The successful candidate will bring expertise, in addition to gathering, analyzing and maintaining information regarding pro audio markets, products, and competitors to help define best-in-class analog audio and monitor speaker products.An in-depth knowledge of the latest active recording studio loudspeaker designs and vintage audio hardware, such as recording consoles and classic microphone preamplifiers, along with four or more years of pro audio product management experience is required.This position demands familiarity with a variety of digital and analog recording equipment, as well as experience with high-end electro-acoustic devices including microphones. Familiarity with traditional outboard equipment such as equalizers and compressors is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create technical audio performance specifications are essential. In addition, candidates must possess superior organizational and time management skills and be capable of managing multiple priorities and achieving results in a cross-functional environment.Job Responsibilities:
1)Work in a cross-functional team with engineering, program management, sales and marketing-communications throughout the product development cycle.
2)Manage consensus and resulting requirements documentation to define a product's specifications.
3)Evaluate competitor offerings as well as new technologies in order to make feature recommendations and future product proposals.
4)Collect customer and channel partner requirements for future products.
5)Manage tradeoffs involving features, schedule, cost, pricing, positioning, and lifecycle management.
6)Make pricing and forecasting recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
7)Communicate and position the product in relation to other products and the competition.Essential Requirements:
1)4+ years of product management (preferably pro audio) experience, or history designing/selling control room monitors and/or microphone preamps
2)In-depth studio monitor loudspeaker knowledge
3)Expertise in the area of vintage consoles, mic preamps, equalizers, compressors
4)Good recording skills - golden earsExtras:
1)BA/BS (or equivalent) in music, or technical field required; an MBA is a plus
2)Fluent in product management process: documentation, development, etc.
3)Experience with the Pro Tools recording environment and associated hardware
4)Familiarity with audio interfaces including Firewire and USB devices, control surfaces, etc.
5)Music or pro audio retail experience
6)Business background - ability to understand and create unit volume, revenue and profit margin worksheets
