Advertising & Creative Services Manager
Safeco is actively recruiting for an Advertising/Creative Services Manager to join our Marketing team!! You’ll be responsible for the successful application of advertising and a broad range of marketing deliverables in support of business unit goals, company brand awareness goals, and corporate objectives. The Advertising and Creative Services Manager is an experienced marketing generalist who ensures that all advertising and marketing activity is aligned with metrics related to quantifiable business objectives; presents advertising creative and media plans to leadership in Product, Sales and senior leadership and provides counsel to Product Marketing and Sales leadership regarding advertising and creative services options. Directs the creation and distribution of advertising and other consumer marketing communications tools that support business strategy.
Coordinates the work of internal and/or external creative, production and distribution resources necessary to meet business objectives and to produce deliverables identified in the campaign insight document and the related strategic marketing plan.
Deploys resources to include the advertising agency, graphic designers/firms, direct response provider, and/or independent copywriters, photographers, illustrators, fabricators, printers, media producers, web designers, web developers, etc.
Effectively manages relationships with other Safeco Corporate departments and individuals; Legal/Compliance, Information Technology/Online Experience, Graphic & Printing Services, Publishing & Distribution Services, and Procurement.
Develops advertising campaigns that dovetail with established effectiveness measuring reporting systems; maintains detailed project records and associated accounting and legal documentation and ensures that budget ceilings for annual plans and individual campaigns are not exceeded.
Coordinates with Research and Development to conduct pre and post advertising campaign measurement.
Works closely with Communications and Marketing AVPs, directors, managers and other personnel to ensure that all advertising and related marketing materials adhere to corporate standards for brand identity, quality and cost effectiveness.
Responds quickly and effectively to develop advertising media plans and campaigns to support company initiatives.To be considered further for this opportunity, the selected candidate will possess the following skills/education/experience: Bachelor’s degree with heavy advertising, marketing, communications and/or business orientation. Graduate education or professional level advanced training in marketing communications highly desirable.
Deep knowledge of consumer behaviors and the key communications drivers that can affect purchase behavior.
Significant experience in successfully managing marketing communications with an advertising agency, creative services provider or within the marketing department of a corporation in the financial services or related industries. This could include account management, creative direction, strategic marketing planning, or advertising agency business development work/assignments.
Management experience to include direct supervision of external strategic partners to include advertising agencies, graphic design firms, and/or direct response marketing resource providers. This includes journeyman level knowledge of key principles and practices of advertising, direct response, and sales promotions, and brand asset management and enhancement.
Additional marketing communications experience and general working knowledge in the areas of direct mail, promotional products, indoor and outdoor signage, sponsorships, trade shows and exhibits, graphic design, electronic and print collateral.
Ability to execute advertising portions of multi-year marketing communications plans that integrate the appropriate media mix and marketing communications tools to achieve specific business objectives and which include specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and measurable goals.
Outstanding presentation, verbal skills and the ability to motivate and inspire internal and external business partners to form dynamic partnerships, effective professional relationships, and cross-functional teams
Strong creative conceptual skills and knowledge of art direction and the creative process
Experience with both direct-to-consumer and independent distribution channel marketing desired.
Knowledge of the insurance industry, best practices, and general business acumen ideal.
Demonstrated long- term commitment to personal professional development and keeping up-to-date with changes in the field of advertising and marketing communications.
